I quit alcohol.
Everyone left me, or I left them.
It felt like a snake shedding skin. It was liberating and invigorating, but everyone close to me wanted me to put it back on. Without that skin, I was invisible. The changes I made scared them. They thought they would lose me, but most of all they wanted to silence the inner voices of reason that had woken from their slumber thanks to the cacophony of noise my changes made.
I was afraid, lonely, and confused.
And that’s why I created the Strive Community Forum.
We are a movement of people who believe that alcoholism is an invisible, violent, and dominant belief system. We don’t believe that drinking alcohol is ‘normal’ or ‘pleasurable’. We don’t believe it is a brain disease.
We are not alcoholics; we are powerful human beings who refuse to be anonymous. We understand the power in uncovering the Truth About Alcohol and raising awareness of that truth through the art of not drinking.
We are role models.

You don’t ever have to be alone again.
You don’t ever have to pretend again.
Throw those surface level bullshit conversations in the bin, and come and make some meaningful connections.
We know you.
We see you.
We hear you.
We are you.
We are not alcoholics, and we refuse to be anonymous.
We are the men and women of Strive.
